However, city life can sometimes get boring and mundane. Isn’t it? To escape the confines of the workspace and the mundaneness of daily routine, one of the best things you can do is to hit beautiful spots near the city. Chikmagalur can be a wonderful choice!

Chikmagalur is renowned for its verdant landscapes and naturally occurring caves. Since the location is only 5 hours away from Bangalore, the best way to get there is by car. Here is some more information to help you with your next road trip to Chikmagalur.

Available Routes

If you are planning a Bangalore to Chikmagalur road trip, there are three options:

Route 1: NH 75 connects Bangalore, Kunigal, Channarayapattana, Hassan, Belur, and Chikmagalur.

With rest stops included, you can expect to reach Chikmagalur in about 5 to 5.5 hours, covering approximately 244 kilometers. One of the most renowned spots along the route to Chikmagalur is Hassan District, where you can also explore the famous Chennakesava Temple located in Belur Town. Route 2: Bangalore-Kunigal-Tiptur-Arsikere-Halebid-Chikmagalur [NH 75 and 73]

This route includes NH 75 and NH 73 and it has sufficient rest stops before you reach Chikmagalur in 5 to 6 hours. Just halt at Tiptur and Tumkur, known for its coconuts. One unpleasant thing you need to face throughout the journey is the huge number of toll plazas in this route.

This is one of the longest routes that connect Bangalore to Chikmagalur. It usually takes 6 to 7 hours and it is not recommended due to the hectic travel.
